Trixis: for stress free hanging baskets and pots!

Trixi's are a recent introduction onto the plant market and are proving very popular. They are three small basket plants combined into a 1 litre (14cm diameter) pot.

The plants are carefully chosen to form a particular colour theme. The one picture below is called double delight and contains a verbena a calibrichoa and a lobelia. You can then plant the trixi into a 12" hanging basket or similar sized container and away it goes! It is hard to find anything much easier than that. Trixi's are available in May at Waresley park garden centre. www.waresley.co.uk

Plant of the month: Anchusa loddon royalist

Our plant of the month for May is Anchusa azurea 'Loddon royalist'. We particularly love it for its striking, intense blue flowers which usually appear in May and June. Flowering will persist longer if you deadhead the plant. It is reasonably tall (it grows up to 4-5 feet) but has strong stems which do not need staking so it is a great alternative to Delphiniums.
It prefers a sunny position in good well drained soil. It is also very popular with Bees and butterflies!
